Earth Systems

This lab based course will consist of a study of the following topics: (1) Volcanoes, Earthquakes and Plate Tectonics (2) Bedrock Geology; (3) Mineral Resources; (4) Astronomy; (5) Oceans and the Hydrosphere; (6) Climate Change; and (7) Solutions; (8) Acids and Bases; (9) Gaseous Behavior; and (10) Organic Chemistry.  These concepts and associated skills are aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards for Earth Systems Science, incorporating 21st century skills and postsecondary and workforce readiness competencies.
