Student Exchange Program: The purpose of the Longmont Sister Cities Association’s Student Exchange Program is to provide an opportunity for Longmont students and families to develop cultural understanding with the people of Chino, Japan and Ciudad Guzman, Mexico through family living experiences.

Gifted & Talented Identification: Search for Students

Each year, schools in St. Vrain Valley School District complete a process to identify students who demonstrate exceptional ability or perfomanace in one or more academic areas and may, therefore, qualify for Gifted/Talented educational services.  These students usually perform at  least two years above grade level in their strength area(s) and require additional academic challenges in order to support their continued educational growth and progress.  In addidion, they usually demnstrate characteristics of unique creativity and high motivation in their strength areas.

Lyons High School Start of School Information

August 11th: 3 pm schedules will be posted on Infinite Campus

August 12th: 5 - 6 pm all high school athletes and parents are encouraged to attend a workshop presented by Positive Coaching Alliance in the cafetorium, 6 - 7 pm fall sports registration.

Lyons Middle School Start of School Information

August 11th: 3 pm schedules will be posted on Infinite Campus

August 17th: 5:30 pm all new students to Lyons Middle Senior (all 6th graders) must attend our iPad orientation in the cafetorium. Distribution will follow the orientation 6 - 8 pm

August 19th: All middle school students 7:50 am - 2:53 pm.  7th & 8th graders receive iPads during school & must have their signed sheets with them to receive iPad.

Longmont Community Foundation honors graduating seniors

The Longmont Community Foundation handed out six St. Vrain Valley Community Service Awards and seven various scholarships Monday afternoon to college-bound high school seniors from the Longmont area.

The awards honored various traits from community service to musicianship to athleticism to commitment to extracurricular activities and academic success.

St. Vrain high schools rank nationally in recent U.S. News & World Report Best High School Rankings

St. Vrain high schools continue to rank locally and nationally according to the recent U.S. News & World Report 2015 Best High Schools Rankings. In Colorado, St. Vrain high schools were compared to 448 high schools and four ranked in the top nine percent. Nationally, St. Vrain high schools were compared to more than 21,000 public high schools throughout all 50 states and the District of Columbia and four ranked in the top eight percent.

Senior Night, May 22 at 7 PM in the Lyons HS Gymnasium (seniors need to report to the library no later than 6:40 PM with caps & gowns)
Continental Breakfast, May 23 8:30-9:30 am in the Lyons HS Cafetorium - open to all seniors and their family. 
Graduation, May 23, at 10 AM on the Lyons HS Football Field (seniors need to report to rooms 11 & 13 no later than 9:30 AM)

SVVSD robotics teams excel; preparing for World Robotics Competitions

From science fiction tales of R2-D2 and HAL 9000, comes today’s reality of robotics in our daily lives. This advancing technology requires 21st century skills of teamwork, critical thinking and creativity. In April, three teams from the St. Vrain Valley School District will take on that challenge at world level robotics competitions.

High School Spring Sports Registration Open - practice begins February 23

The following paperwork is required in the office before the student may begin practice on February 23.

1.  Current sports physical signed by physician, student and parent

2.  Code of conduct signed by student and parent

3.  District permission form signed by student and parent

4.  Emergency contact form (a new one is needed for each sport)

5.  $150 check payable to Lyons Middle Senior.
