Hello Lyons Parents/Guardians and Community Members,
I am excited to be the principal of Lyons Middle/Senior High School starting next year! Lyons is an amazing community, and I am honored to be serving the community in this new role in St. Vrain Valley Schools.
We will have plenty of time to get to know each other, and I wanted to take a moment to tell you about myself. I believe that strong relationships and family partnerships are key to a healthy school community, and I look forward to meeting students, parents, and community members over the coming months.
I am originally from Iowa and graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Earth and Physical Science education (Go Cyclones!). I taught both middle school and high school science for over ten years, with my last five years teaching 8th grade science in a K-12 school. I moved into leadership and eventually joined the Niwot High School leadership team as an assistant principal. I have loved my time at NHS, and my work has been focused on 1:1 readiness and iPad deployment, professional development programming, and instructional leadership.
My husband, Brad, and I have two beautiful children and an ornery dog who keep us on our toes. We love to get outdoors and enjoy the Colorado sunshine!
I was drawn to Lyons Middle/Senior High School because of its strong community support, the hard-working and talented teachers, and the amazing students. I am excited to work with both middle school and high school students in a smaller school environment...but more importantly, I am excited to build upon the foundation of excellence that already exists at Lyons Middle/Senior High School. I am currently finishing up my work at NHS while also working with Mr. Daly, Ms. Syferd, our district leadership, and teachers to ensure a smooth transition in August.
We are planning principal meet and greet sessions this spring, and I am sure you will see me around at different school events. Don't hesitate to say hello! You can also see all the great things happening at Lyons Middle/Senior High School on our Twitter account. Follow us: @LyonsLionsCO
