The St. Vrain Valley School District is using its K-8 summer school program, Project Launch, as a training opportunity for future teachers. High school students in the district’s P-TEACH program, along with recent graduates, can work as para-educators and tutors in the summer program, giving them extra classroom experience — plus a summer paycheck.
Seniors across the St. Vrain Valley School District tossed their caps to the sky and looked toward the future at commencement ceremonies this weekend. Incoming Lyons Middle School seventh grader Avery Gibson is spending the week meeting “really cool” socially assistive robots and learning to code one. Working with a classmate, her mission was to give a small robot a fun personality and code it to lead people through games that include charades and truth or dare.
