Due to this week's high-wind event, Lyons Middle Senior High School is currently without power, and restoration time remains unknown. As a result, school is canceled for today, December 19, at Lyons Middle Senior High School. Given that many of our staff and students in the surrounding area are also experiencing power outages in their homes, we will not be holding an online learning day. After-school activities and athletics are also canceled unless you hear otherwise from your coach. Lyons Elementary School is not impacted and is expected to have normal school operations today.
We understand this closure impacts high school finals for Blocks 4 and 8. Impacted students will have two options. Students may choose to freeze their grade and not take the final. If a student had hoped to take the final to raise their grade, they may make arrangements with their teacher to do so after winter break. Please note that some AP teachers may require students to take the final and will provide class time after winter break to complete testing. Your student's teacher will communicate individually with your student regarding their options for completing their finals.
